This past election season and the ensuing shitstorm have left me feeling very alone indeed. Seeing how both sides totally flipped their lids (well, still are. See: the liberals.) was very strange. It’s as if I got to see how nasty people can really be, and it’s far more people than I realized that are that way underneath it all. Or maybe not? I don’t know. Maybe people like me are going to be quiet and stay out of the way because who knows what the others will say or do to them. Or maybe they simply don’t give a shit: it’s business as usual.

I’ve seen that people are extremely gullible and willing to believe the worst of everyone. This isn’t new. This election season was essentially a re-run of Obama’s campaign with Trump being the “great savior” instead. The media, mainstream/pundits/alt/whatever, can say or do anything, and most people will believe it. They don’t stop and think that the media has an agenda too. It’s reaction, reaction, reaction.

The vitriol! The news site I followed was ruined for me when the Trump Trolls took over…and unfortunately most Trump supporters I ran across seemed to be Trump Trolls. I couldn’t dare say anything that wasn’t glowing about Trump, or I would get attacked for being a ‘traitor’, a 'wimp’, a 'paid Soros goon’, because GOD FORBID I HAVE CONCERNS. Concerns? Wtf is that? If Hillary wins, we will all die! Life will be over! If you don’t vote or vote 3rd party, you will responsible for all the evil in the world! (I heard this all before in every other single election. Seriously, people?)And, now that Trump has won/is in office, the liberals have been having a massive public meltdown. Trump is Hitler! Life is over! He’s going to send goons to come kill us all!! OMG No more birth control!!! (Hey folks, I bought progesterone birth control for awhile. It was $20 for 3 or 4 months. You’re fussing about that? Are you nuts?) How dare we have to take responsibility for anything! Have you guys looked at yourselves in the mirror? Do you not see how absolutely ridiculous you are being?

I don’t like Trump. I don’t like Clinton. While I am massively relieved that Hillary didn’t win, Trump is far from ideal. I do believe that he will help tear down some shit that needs tearing down, and I’m enjoying the utter chaos he is causing in the system. But, is he the great Republican Savior? No. Far from it. In other words, it’s the same shit as usual. He might get some good things done, he might get some bad things done. This is called REALITY. Try it. You might learn something.

But, as I started out saying, I often feel like I’m the only one living in reality (aside from my close friends, thank God). I wish the more sensible and moderate of us would speak up more often instead of hiding from the flying shit.

Then I wake up this morning to the news that the precious snowflake SJWs are protesting and rioting. Saw a comment somewhere that some of these kids actually think there's a chance of Hillary getting into the office because the Electoral College still has to vote on December 19. Dear Lord. If you think you are seeing protests now, you might get a civil war if the Electoral College bucks the vote. I really hope this all smooths out. Quickly...but I'm also concerned about the implacability of the brainwashed masses. They don't have any real understanding of our system, and because they don't understand, they don't care. It's a bit frightening.

I see celebs are a part of stoking this crap. I've only seen Madonna and Cher mentioned as being out with the protestors, but I will also lump in Lady GaGa and Katy Perry for their tweets after the election. I'm up for agreeing to disagree, but encouraging this kind of behavior is unacceptable. They won't be getting any money from me.

I had no clue running up to the election yesterday who would win. Both sides seemed especially motivated and loud. The final numbers seem to bear this out with (at least around here) the many close races. I am glad that I was able to "vote my conscience" and still not have a Clinton in the White House. I intensely dislike Trump, but I think he's more likely to do the right thing than Clinton. Here's to hoping he surrounds himself with good advisors and a qualified cabinet.

Then there's the aftermath today. I've mainly looked only at Tumblr, which is SJW-central. Oh, they talk like Trump is going to come personally execute each and every one of them. I'm seeing posts about how all of the pet groups (LGBT, Muslims, etc) are going to be persecuted, how they are all fearful of life now, etc. I just...Look, Trump is an asshole, but he's not Hitler. You might want to learn not lap up everything the media tells you about the opposition (OR your fav candidate). They make you see what they want you to see by carefully trimming sound bites and presenting the worst side of the opposition...while making sure their fav looks amazing at all times. Grain of salt. HUGE grain of salt.

As a Christian, I choose to have faith that God is ultimately in control, not ONE person in the office of the President of the United States. Hell, the Senate and the House are more important than he is. Even so...My happiness and joy does not depend on the changing goons in charge.
